PROGRAMMES – Music – A black history

PROGRAMMES – Music – A black history

Stolen from Africa, taken to America! How do we find something good to come from such a horrible piece of history? Well we follow the movement of the people from Africa to America and look at how the development of the music they held so dear to, when robbed of all else, has influenced the modern styles we listen to today! A dark history, told with sensitivity, tact and humour which not only demonstrates the journey of music from Africa to modern “pop”, but also highlights how music and people are all different yet all the same.
