FAQs

FAQs

Q: What time will you arrive?

A: For a morning session we will aim to be at your school by 8:15 in order to avoid arriving when parents are dropping off the children and to be loaded into the hall and set up ready to start after registration.

For an afternoon session we will aim to be with you by 12:45 ready to be set up as soon as the hall is available.

Q: Our Hall is used for dinners and won’t be available for 13:00.

A: We are used to setting up whilst the dinner staff are clearing up the hall. We will normally be able to unload our equipment as the hall is starting to be cleared and set up on one side of the hall whilst the hall is being cleaned without inconveniencing the lunch staff and their duties.

It is better that we are ready and waiting to setup as soon as possible so that we can be ready to start the afternoon session promptly in order to best fit in to the afternoon timetable.

Q: What are the timings of the performances?

A: Example timings for a morning performance would be 9:15 – 10:15 and 10:30 – 11:30.

Then for an afternoon session 13:10 – 14:10 and 14:15 – 15:15. Your school timetable may not be able to accommodate those times and that is fine, you can arrange the timings to best suit your timetable. However, it is important to leave time to swap the children over between concerts and for us to get our equipment out of the hall in time for dinnertime or after school clubs to set up. We will arrive at your school in enough time to set up in your hall ready to start as soon as the hall is free.

Q: Are you DBS checked?

A: Yes. All of our team have valid DBS certificates with them.

Q: Do staff need to be present during your performance?

A: No, but we do recommend it. We understand that time is precious for teachers these days and that they may not be available. We are able to engage and supervise the children during the session. However, our programs are filled with cross-curricular links to support staff in making music accessible across the wider curriculum.

Q: Is it suitable for nursery/EYFS children?

A: Yes, we pitch our performances to the level of our audience and nursery/EYFS children are more than welcome to sit in with the KS1 performance.

Q: But our nursery children won’t be able to sit for the hour?

A: Of course you know your children better than us, but in nearly all cases they manage to sit through the whole session without a problem. As our performances are very interactive the children are kept interested for the whole session. However, if you feel that they are not, then you are welcome to bring them in and out as you see fit.

Q: Do we have to pick a theme and when do we have to select one by?

A: You are welcome to select a theme from our list of programs at any time before the day of our performance. We keep a record of which programs you have had previously so if you have not selected a theme then we will ensure that we deliver a suitable theme that your children have not seen before.

Q: Are you registered for VAT?

A: No. As we work in education our prices are not subject to VAT.

Q: Do we have to pay before your performance?

A: No, we will bring our invoice on the day of the performance and you can pay by cheque, BACS or through your education authority payment system with a purchase order number. All payments are due within 30 days of the performance.
